Programming with csv files

Please disregard Project ID 17704583. My needs have changed. I will be receiving approximately 15 csv files each day, approximately 2.6 MB each. There are 1435 columns and a varied number of rows ( approximately 100) in each file. It is horse racing data with items found in the Daily Racing Form. There is one row for each horse in a given race. I will write programs in Visual Basic or Open Office Basic to perform calculations on the data. I need a program that will load them into memory rapidly in a format that will make the following possible. It needs to be programmed with no user input except changing the name of a file. I don't need to see anything except what I print out on my printer. The files will not be written to. They will be deleted at the end of the day. I would prefer not to name 1435 columns. I would like to use undeclared variables and simply use positions on a matrix (A1,E5,etc.) to refer to values. I also need a program to make a new file which can be appended to each day which will include a few things from these files and a few things which I will calculate.
