A personal and intimate interview article about The Impossible Project

For [login to view URL] ---- LONG Description: In 2008, the Polaroid CEO decided to discontinue all production of the instant film - i think they started that film during the 60's. The reason was that the sales of instant film had dropped 25% per year since 2000. The same year, The Impossible Project was founded. They bought the machinery that was previously used by Polaroid and leased a warehouse in Amsterdam. 2010 they started to sell the first instant films - for the original Polaroid cameras (which they also refurbish and sell). I dont have any numbers of how much films are sold compared to the Polaroid years, but it is easy to see that Impossible is doing kinda good. It has taken until now though, before they have come close to the same chemical balance as the old polaroid instant films (a color shot took about 2 mins in the good old days, until now it has taken about 40 minutes with their films). So, i would like to read about a few things: - The process from acquiring the machines until they managed to get the chemicals right to reproduce the old, actually INSTANT film. I have heard that they managed to get hold of a retired Polaroid worker to help them. - How did they manage to get it so popular - after sales dropped and dropped in the beginning of the 2000s? - Who are the people behind and most important: whats their personal drive and passions?
