We are a company from travel technology industry. With our API we are using hotel terms that we want to describe and illustrate. Please start with writing descriptions for the following terms. - Channel Management: System that synchronises dynamic data between Properties and distribution channels. - Distributor: Seller of Inventory to guests. Distributors can be a hotel's website, online travel agents (OTAs) like Booking and Expedia, and everybody who needs an accommodation. - Inventory: Inventory means all Units of all Room Types of a Property. - Offer (Product, Room Rate, Package): An Offer (or product, room rate, package) is a combination of one or more Room Types and a Rate Plan. An Offer has a price. This combined information is what guests buy when they book a stay. - Property: Property means real estate upon which is located an operating accommodation provider. The term includes all business like hotels, hostels, guesthouses, B&Bs, apartments and private rooms. - Property Management System (PMS) is a software application used in Properties to manage operational functions of front office, sales, room services, reporting etc. - Rate Plan: Rate plans consists of attributes like payment policy, cancellation policy, included meals and services, minimum and maximum length of stay, booking period, commission and other booking conditions. - Room Type: The Room Type holds the room name and description, number of guests it can accommodate, facilities etc. A Property may have multiple Units (or rooms) that all are of the same Room Type. - Source: Source of Property static and dynamic information. It is the company from that the information is taken. Examples: Expedia is a Source. Property Management Systems are Sources. - Supplier: Supplier of Property static and dynamic information. It is the company that uses the SupplierAPI to feed the Database. - Unit: Unit means any limited area or space in a property that a guest can book. It's usually a room or a bed.
