I need a Windows console application that can convert an existing set of dbf/DB2 files to both tab delimited output and tsql. In a best case scenario: 1. copy a db2 file (which may be currently in use by the database) to a temp folder \temp off of the application folder for now 2. read the copied db2 file and extract the database column names and data types 3. generate and execute tsql to create the table (target Microsoft SQL 2008 and higher) 4. generate and execute tsql to insert the data the 'bulk insert' might not work due to us running on a different system so something like sqlbulkcopy might be a better option 5. using the same process, export the data to a tab separated file Note - Item 4: this table will need to pair db2 types to standard sql types Note - Item 5: should go through the same parsing code as Item 4 so that if there are issues with the inserting we can dump the data to separated data to see what the issue might be, or dump the data for other uses The application should take the following inputs from the command line: A. specify connection string (this will execute item 4) B. specify output folder (this will write 3/4/5 to file) for later use - output files should use a consistent naming convention such as: <inputfile>[login to view URL], <inputfile>[login to view URL], <inputfile>[login to view URL] C. specify drop / create to drop and create the file D. target table name, if not specified it will use the db2 file name (example: [login to view URL] = testtable) E. input file (db2/dbf) Example: [login to view URL] -connectionstring="Server=address;Database=db;User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;" -drop -create -table="tablename" -outputfolder=c:\output [login to view URL] I will provide db2 file examples BUT the code needs to be flexible for other schemas and not hardcoded byte count etc. to the samples. Notes: - Must be written in C# - I require the source code without any licensing or other restrictions - Target can be .NET 4.5 - It most likely execute on a Windows Servers (2008 or higher)
