Text editor for braille material creation

Preparation of Material in Brille need particular preparation dependant on language settings and character sets. Creating quickly large amount of material requires a more flexible and more direct way of modifying material sources. We are searching for a windows developer who is willing to create the following project for us, provides a portable application and its source at a reasonable time and is willing to carry on the project in the future. The described project is supposed to be part of a general workflow for a support center for persons with sight loss. The application will help in a non-profit environment to quickly and cost effective produce a high quantity of material ready for braille embossing. - The application should be executable on Windows 7 and above - Further it has to be fully accessible to blind and low visioned (respecting button naming - not only captions, accessibility to modern screen reader), advising and testing can be done by our staff Feature description: - The application offers a text editor to write non-formated (excluding linebreaks) text - The application can read/open .txt, .rtf, .doc, .docx files (disregarding the included formatimgs, only plain text) - The application saves files in .txt format - The application offers a possibility to restrict lines and characters per line and page (example: a page can have 32 lines, 34 characters per line) -> values should be changable - The application allows reserved space (margin left: adds x spaces at the start of each line; top margin: adds x blank lines at the top ) -> values should be changable The main task of the application is to make modification to the content text Number replacement Replace numbers with corresponding chracter -> read from a translation file Example: 1 replaces to #a; 2 replaces to #b; 12 replaces to #ab Uppercase replacemen Replace uppercase characters with corresponding character combinations -> read from a translation file, when two or more uppercase characters are combined, specific settings are required Example: A replaces to $a; B replaces to $b; Ab replaces to $ab; AB replaces to $$ab; ABC replaces to $$abc Character replacements (here multiple different translation files should be selectable) Specific characters have to be replaced -> read from a translation file Example: á replaces to (; ü replaces to $ - A regular UI is required, Logos/naming, grafics and help files will be provided, a menu structure will be created while development is ongoing to respect circumstances - The order of applied “replacements” should be logic (user can change order) - The visualisation of text should be with particular font and size (user changable value) - All changeable values of settings to be merged in a settings chapter, stored and modifyable - Translation tables to be editable (can be individual files or inbuilt data storages)
