The following Printed Circuit Board (PCB) checklist applies to all production level PCB layout conducted for PrintedCircuitBoardDesigner.com. The intent of mandating this checklist serves to ensure the quality and performance of all deliverable PCB's to clients. Cadence Allegro employed. Orcad Capture schematical input.
2.0 PCB DESIGN DEFINITION
ICD .pdf and .dxf received from ME team.
ICD imported into PCB board template, dimensionally verified with ME team.
PCB Constraints Specification completed and received.
PCB transmission line structures simulation completed and verified with PCB fabrication vendor.
PCB Dielectric material identified and approved by PCB Design Manager and ME team.
PCB board template title block edited for PCB number and revision.
PCB constraints entered.
PCB transmission line structures entered.
PCB Fab Notes symbol added and edited.
PCB progeny logo symbol added and edited.
PCB outline dimensioned.
PCB test points defined and entered.
PCB vias defined and entered.
PCB line/space defined and entered.
PCB Notes symbol placed and edited.
PCB Stack-up symbol placed and edited.
PCB SBIR, Distribution, and Data Rights symbol placed and edited.
3.0 IMPORT NETLIST
PCB schematic updated to PSC CIS Db and passed update.
PCB schematic verified for footprints and part numbers.
PCB netlisted and passed in schematic.
PCB netlist imported INTO layout tool and passed.
4.0 PCB MECHANICAL
PCB mounting holes, tooling holes, place bound and route keep-outs/keep-ins created.
PCB board outline saved as symbol.
5.0 PCB DEPANELIZATION
PCB break-away, rat bites, score lines, route lines created.
Component and etch clearance to break-away verified.
6.0 PCB FIDUCIALS
PCB global fiducial symbol placed.
PCB local fiducial symbol placed.
7.0 PCB COMPONENTS
Controlled components placed per ICD X,Y coordinates.
Critical components placed.
Remaining components placed.
Unplaced components report and passed.
PCB format symbols placed and edited (ESD, High Voltage, ect.).
8.0 PCB ROUTING
PCB planes routed and verified.
PCB power routed and verified.
PCB transmission lines routed and verified.
PCB remaining traces routed and verified.
PCB net-shorts routed and verified.
PCB test-points added and test report generated and approved.
PCB glossed for dangling lines.
PCB unconnected nets and pins report and passed.
9.0 PCB DESIGN VERIFICATION
PCB power layout verified for power loss, voltage drop, and temperature rise.
PCB power layout verified for current flow and current return paths.
PCB transmission line layout verified for impedance, timing, discontinuities, crosstalk, and stubs.
PCB layers verified for proper stack-up routing and return paths.
PCB layout routes verified for line and space rules.
PCB layout optimized to reduce EMI and EMI susceptibility.
PCB nets verified for voltage, safety, ESD, and HiPOT spacing requirements.
PCB net–shorts verified.
PCB DRC report generated and passes, or DRC waived.
PCB passes PSC PCB DFM.
PCB assembly ref-des text located to component centers.
PCB silkscreen cleared from exposed etch and ref-des text located to component sides.
PCB drill table created and placed.
PCB net-short table symbol placed and edited.
PCB Impedance table symbol placed and edited.
PCB notes match design data, title blocks verified.
10.0 PCB DESIGN DATA VERIFICATION
PCB RS274X artwork (Gerber) created 2.5 format.
PCB etch layers verified (Gerber).
PCB testpoints layers verified (Gerber).
PCB soldermask layers verified (Gerber).
PCB pastemask layers verified (Gerber).
PCB assembly layers verified (Gerber).
PCB silkscreen layers verified (Gerber).
PCB drill layers verified (Gerber).
PCB Fab layers verified (Gerber).
PCB Test Point layers verified (Gerber).
PCB RS274X artwork (Gerber) printed to .pdf format.
PCB drill file created and verified 2.5 format, checked against Drill table.
PCB IPC-D-356A netlist created and verified.
PCB placement file created and verified.
PCB ODB++ created and verified.
PCB Gerber and/or ODB++ verified to IPC-D-356A netlist by PCB fabrication vendor CAM department.
PCB IDF and DXF exported and verified by ME team.
PCB testprep exported and verified.
11.0 PCB DESIGN ARCHIVE
PCB file zipped and saved name as PCB number_revision.
