Contract Freelance Art Director - Pharma Marketing

LOCATION: Guelph, Ontario, Canada (approx. 1 hour West of Toronto; must be able to work in on-site studio and not remotely) DURATION: 6-month contract with potential for long-term placement DETAILS: Canadian pharmaceutical marketing company seeks experienced Art Director for partial maternity leave coverage. Successful applicant will work directly with Creative Director and other senior development personnel on such activities as: - Launch brand creative development - Website architecture and screen creation - Re-styling established corporate creative - Applying concept behind established brand creative to print, e-, and web initiatives - Brainstorm new creative approaches Art Director will also work independently and, occasionally, with supporting design staff to: - Apply details of product and corporate branding to print, e-, and web initiatives - Create layouts from start through internal and client revisions to final approvals - Collect artwork files for production (even split between e- and print production) - Provide guidance to other team members regarding design features and requirements, particularly to programming and client service teams - Create and modify such layouts in English and then again in French, as required - Develop layouts that satisfy brand needs, creative needs, and regulatory needs equally The above descriptions are examples of activities and may not be inclusive of all functions required for this position. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a must, as is the ability to work on-site from a studio in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Applicants must show demonstrated experience and success working in both print format and e (e-Details, online promotions, websites, etc.), from design to execution. The successful applicant will be very detail-oriented with an ability to think strategically, voice their creativity, and provide clients with a solution that they would be unable to have conceptualized themselves. This position must be filled at the beginning of February, 2011, and holds the potential to bridge into a long-term contract if the right fit is found.
