I require several, three or more custom forms for Outlook 2010. I do use Outlook in the usual company context with the standard forms provided.
In addition, I have started now a project, where I insvestigate a historic era. It occurred to me to use Outlook as a repository of relational information. The tweaked items are basically:
"Persons" (tweaked Contacts): Hereby I require some unusual fields, like "Date of Death" or "Place of Death". Also I will require multiple "Institutions" fields in order to record the multiple allegiances of the subject person over a lifetime.
"Institutions" (tweaked Contacs, as well): Hereby I will require few basic data for the Institution, like "Year of Forming" or "Seat" etc.
There will be an "m to n" relation between Persons and Institutions: Any Person may be belonging to m Institutions, or any Institution may harbour n Persons. mmax < 10 and nmax < 100 should suffice, if such limitations are required.
So, for example, when populating an Item belonging to a Person, I need to see a dropdown list, where I can associate the previously defined "Institution" Items with this particular "Person". Or vice versa.
"Events" (Tweaked Calendar Items): Are historic events, which will are pretty similar to an Outlook calendar entry with following key issues:
1) I will require here two dropdown lists, associating each "Event" with (sometimes several) "Persons" and "Institutions".
2) I need a particular tweak for the "Start and End Dates" of "Events": Namely: These dates may have various "error brackets": So, for example 1880 may be EXACT, but with a bracket of, say "5 years" may mean 1875 - 1885. Thus "Event" dates will be multiple, like "earliest start date" etc. In addition dates may be exact to the day (like for untweaked calendar items) or may be only precise to the month, say "August 1876" for example, or only precise to the year, say "1876". These details must be accomodated and must result in events sorted in timelines (this will be one end product) in particular order.
This, so far, are my requirements.
I would like to add:
For each of these custom forms I will require likely only one custom printing option.
All these custom issues will affect only dedicated contacts calendars and may not affect the rest of my Outlook or Exchange Server.
Eventually I would like to share the customized contacts/ calendars within our server in order to facilitate group production.
If I feel that I can make headway with this I will design the form mock ups, defien fields etc.
