A small project of developing a simple workflow on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 for adding an approval workflow on the "Phys. Inventory Journal". 1. After "Calculate Inventory" is run, and after the "Qty. (Phys. Inventory)" is entered on all lines, the journal has to be submitted for approval before it can be posted. (therefore, a new "Release" or "Submit" button has to be added in order to trigger the workflow) 2. once submitted it has to notify a specific "User Profile/Role" by email or by a system notification. 3. once the journal is approved, it has to notify the journal creator that the Journal has been approve. Only then they can post the journal.

I am new at freelancer.com, but not in Dynamics NAV world. I have 13 years development,consulting and project management experience with NAV. This task with Physical Inventory journal is easy enough to realize it in several hours. My solution: 1. Two ways to select user with approval rights - if it's only one person, then new field in Inventory Setup is needed, where you should assign this person. If you want to have more than one person with approval rights, then additional field in User Setup should be used for each user. 2. Buttons "Submit" and "Approve" will appear in phys. inventory journal. 3. If "Submit" is pressed by any user, this button will verify journal - if it's calculated and all phys. inventory qtys filled, then email notification will be sent to user with approval rights. 4. If "Approve" button is pressed by user with approval rights, then journal will be marked as approved. Only journals with this mark can be posted. 5. Creator will get email notification about possibility to post approved journal. Question: who is creator? person who generated journal with "Calculate Inventory" or person who pressed "Submit"?
