I have extensively worked on serial/RS-232 communication. Also i have trouble-shoot on hardware too including cross cabled RS232 connection as well as USB-Serial conversion cables. Could you please provide the below details on the same? 1. Does it involve hardware setup/troubleshooting? 2. Does the application to be developed is windows based? or Linux too? 3. Is it contains automatic communication settings without user intervention? 4. Do you need data representation in different formats like HEX, Decimal etc? 5. Does the app needs to learn the COM by smart analysis or does the user select the COM(If you are using USB-Serial converter, the COM number varies if you plug in to different ports.
