Debug code for WebSockets

I'm trying to establish communication with IBM Watson Speech-to-text (STT) from Mac OS via WebSockets. I wrote a Python code and get a response from STT, but it looks like STT doesn't hear what I say. The task is to debug my code so that STT can hear what I say and respond back.
