BUG FIX: PHP classified script - plus small change to post page - easy job

I need a few things done.
((1)) My classified script has a bug:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 110 in /home/ewefry55/public_html/[url removed, login to view] on line 18
I cannot connect to the database server because: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 110
I need this bug fixed asap.
((2)) I need to change the post page to a new layout. I have attached the image of OLD post page - post-old-page.gif. And I attached the NEW post page - post-new.gif. The new post page has several new fields. Captcha image, and tags. and email field.
Also when users click on "post new ad" it takes users to select category page. What I want is to skip the category selection, and have users go straight to the post page.
This is a pretty easy project. I will pay $35. paid via GAF escrow after it works 100%.
