I want to have separate password authentication built-in my own delphi application. We have one computer that many people uses. We have group login for that. However, if somebody want to start this particular application I want them to enter their personal password. To avoid a user to have multiple password I want to authenticate a Username / Password on our network server. So I would like a routine/component that I can pass a username and password to. It should return True or False depending on success or failure. The server shall regards this as a request similar to a normal request when login onto the computer. I guess I have not provided all the required information, so please ask me. Question: Are you asking for a funtion that will connect to your server machine and authenticate the user login and passwd using exisiting facilities. My answer: YES. How does a normal logon to a computer works? I guess there must be a request to the server machine. The function I ask for should work similary if possible. That is, no application database w/ user info, no special application or service on the server machine. The normal network login facility on the server should be used. The server should think that it is client authentication request due to a network login.
