Developing and Designing a membership website

We need someone to DEVELOP AND DESIGN our website. The website will be membership based and each user will have a profile page with a picture and short presentation. The purpose is for users to advertise a specific service, and to make it easy for buyers to find people selling the service in their own neighbourhood. It is therefore important that it is easy to search the membership catalog, particularly based on location. Furthermore, when searching it should be possible to view each user's location on an integrated map. It is important that the website has a professional look and feel. We do have some reference websites in terms of design that can serve as inspiration, but we do not want a copy. The succesfull freelancer will have to be able to demonstrate a portfolio of succesfull projects. Specifications: :: We want a website with profile pages and search functionality. :: We are not looking for a 1:1 copy, but have examples of websites with the right design. We want to add a personal feeling to the website. :: After finishing the website, it should be possible for us to further develop/maintain the site. However, we do look forward to building a long-term relationship with the developer for additional maintenance (and other projects in the future). :: It should be possible to in the future add a payment solution. :: The website's language will be in English. It should however be possible to easily translate text to other languages.
