I want to receive a database of movies from the Internet Movies Database (see [login to view URL]). The data are largely or all available from the ftp locations mentioned there, but they still require some data tweaking to get them connected. Please check this yourself.
What I want to receive are two text files.
The first one, the movie file, should have the following in it:
movie_id, movie_title, releasedateUSA, numberofcountriesrealeasedin, boxofficegross, boxofficerentals, ratings by sex and age, numberofraters, numberofawards, numberofnominations, genre, plot keywords, runtime, country, language, USAcertification, filming locations, company, actorid1, actorid2, ... , actoridn
Most of these variable names should be clear from their names. It is what you can see on [login to view URL] if you just click through the pages. actorid1, through actoridn, are ids actors in the crew.
The second one, the actor file, should have the following in it:
- actorid, name, age, gender, country of birth, number of oscars, number of oscar nominations, number of other prizes, start of career (=year of first movie), number of movies up to now, number of movies produced, number of times director, number of "self" appearances, keyword1, ... , keywordn, numkeyword1, ... , numkeywordn
I think all of these can be taken from the text files at [login to view URL], but again, **please check for yourself before you bid**!
- Deliver as two single text files, comma delimited, that can be easily merged on actorids
- Deliver names between quotes (so "Tom Cruise", "True Romance", etc)
**NOTE**: it is not crucial, but if you can deliver the code with which you connected or downloaded the data as well, I am more likely to choose you as the coder, and are willing to pay a bit more. Please mention whether you will do that in your bid.
