I've just setup a Linux VPS that is optimised for PHP hosting, and not the Python framework I will be using for a commercial hosted CMS.
The host utlizes their own in-house Open Source (PHP) control panel, which I want to use to control standard site related (non-framework) tasks; email, domains, create new site*, etc.
I need a SysAdmin/Php Coder to oversee the configuration of the server, & Control Panel, so it operates seamlessly with our existing Framework. GPLhost have, and continue to be very helpful, and provide built-in tools for duplication of existing accounts within the existing (PHP) Control Panel. They also have a vested interest in providing greater Python compatability with their CP.
Im looking for an experienced SysAdmin that can:
1. Oversee and administer the setup of our VPS for reliable operation with our Framework.
2. Customise the existing PHP Control Panel to integrate with the installation paths we'll need (this should be simple).
3. Provide documentation for future Hosts, and future SysAdmins, regarding the necessary customisations for setup of a ROOT Managed system.
Apache/Cpanel AIMS
AIM:
Choose/customise an optimal VPS/CP config to run our Python Framework, and duplicate for additional VPS'.
OBJECTIVES:
1. APACHE
1.1. Secure the server.
1.2. Optimise the server (paint it red).
1.3. Easy duplication of server configuration for new VPS'.
2. CONTROL PANEL
2.1. Customise the server/Cpanel config (creation of Vhosts, etc) for HeavyMetal(HM), our Pylons based CMS.
2.2. Easy 1 click new/duplicate accounts/sites adding new clients.
*A new site is easily created by simply duplicating existing SVN folder, OR even a live folder (and then customising for each new client).
