I don't think your aproach is correct. Correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand you own the website to be crawled, No? In this case I think what you need is full-text search engine. These things are very fast indexing and retreaving information. As an example indexing a few million records from mysql should not take more than 20-30 minutes and doing a search to retreave the documents will then only take milliseconds. If on the other hand what you need is actually a web crawler. Then I can do this as well, and again index the resulting data for fast retrival. Amazon S3 is unlikely to be of use in this case because it is a static content storage service as far as I know.
