Part 1: Create a new table, called "artistinfo", with the following fields genre gender agegroup race children income college Part 2: Create the Genre entry for each of Average columns in the .xls, filling out each of the parameters above into an .SQL file. You can do this any way you'd like, either manually or through modifying the XLS in some way that it can be easily scripted to create the .SQL file to enter into the artistinfo table. Here is an example. For the Indy/Electronica genre, there are the following parameters in the Excel sheet: Male: 60% Female: 40% 3-11: 1% 12-17: 17% 18-34: 35% 35-49: 32% 50+: 14% Caucasian: 70% Afr Am: 7% Asian: 6% Hispanic: 13% Other: 5% No Children: 65% Children: 35% $0-30k: 22% $30-60k: 25% $60k-100k: 30% $100k+: 23% No College: 39% College: 44% Grad School: 17% In the database, you would add an Indy/Electronica genre, and add gender "Male 60% | Female 40%", age "3-11 1% | 12-17 17% | 18-34 35% | 35-49 32% | 50+ 14%" The rest would be in the same format. Race, Children, Income and College. There are 20 of the above, including this one to do.
