Hi,
I need a fairly simple programme that can run and record a webcam or other video & audio recording device plugged into a laptop running WinXP.
I would like the programme to start to record at the press of a keyboard button and stop on the press of a different key. The video files should be recorded in as high Q as possible in .avi format with sound. These would saved straight to the hard drive.
When the camera is not active, would it be possible for the programme to display a jpeg image - this would then ideally disappear ad a 3sec countdown appear when the rec button is pressed.
I would also like the keys to be customizable as well as the jpeg image that is displayed when inactive so I can change it when needed.
Some considerations to include would be to ensure that once camera is recording, further presses on the record button will not register, and to make it as crash free as possible. It will be left for the general public to use so needs to be able to just keep running all day long. Can it be also integrated so that there is an option for it to boot straight up on start of windows?
Any more info please let me know.
Also I would need this up and running by 23th July.
