A few years ago I developed a Mac app called CapSee that notified the user when they hit the caps lock key using an on screen bezel that looks like volume and brightness bezels built in to OSX. That version is not compatible with the newer OS, so I’d like to recreate the app to add a little more to the app and be compatible with Yosemite.

Information about the original version can be found here:

(I highly recommend you look at both links to get an idea of what CapSee used to do.)

Here is a summary of what the new app should provide:

• System tray icon that indicates if caps lock is presently on or off

• System tray should provide options:

- enable/disable capsee at login

- hide capsee menu from system tray

- how long the bezel stays on screen (3 seconds, 5s, 10s, forever)

- when WhatKey turns on (3 seconds, 5s, 10s, never)

• On screen bezel that appears when caps lock is turned on

- on screen bezel should match the built-in OSX bezels (eg. volume or screen brightness)

- bezel must work on multiple displays and desktops

• On screen bezel that appears when shift, fn, control, option, or esc key is held down for X seconds (based on fourth system tray option setting)

- this bezel shows the icon Apple uses to identify the key that was pressed. For example, Apple displays a X for command.

• App will be submitted to the Mac App Store, so will need to follow any appropriate guidelines and rules
