I have worked with android and embedded too. One of my project was indoor localization for small scale business place via Android + Bluetooth. I have a fair knowledge in Arduino too. I'm a software engineer currently working on Java Play web application. I have followed your assignment. Either serial or blue tooth communications both are fine for this solution. But I prefer Bluetooth communication, is much better for this solution because, If we used USB communication between Mobile and the board, There is no way, if we need to charge the mobile without stopping the communication. I don't have a Bluetooth module to port with board now. I'll provide you the usb communication app for now. Then we can enhance it for Bluetooth.
