i have an experience of 3 plus years on google adwords and online advertising. For google adwords the overall objective is to minimize cost and optimize for quality leads. this is done by using different ways of optimizations. first you check the bid, the position of your advert, than you check the ctr and cpl. you can start with choosing the keywords which are the most relevant to your industry where you can see your competitors advertising as well. search terms will just help you in deciding whether the keywords you have chosen are relevant or not.
