Create SVG Vector Graphic For A Floor Plan Diagram

As part of our software, we display an interactive graphic of a venue's floor plan to aide in a user's selection of a seating area within that floor plan. This graphic is based on a raster image of varying size, quality, and content provided by our clients. This project's intent is to create a vector graphic in the scalable vector graphics (SVG) format, accompanying raster (for browsers that do not support the SVG format), and metadata required for the graphic to be interactive. Because our goal is that all of our graphics maintain a consistent look and feel, it is important that the designer can pay close attention to detail and instruction with regard to the needed requirements.

Requirements:

- Create a file in the SVG format given a raster image. While you can use any tool desired to create the SVG, you will need to be comfortable editing the XML of the created file in order to add specific class attributes to rectangle or polygon elements that represent the areas specified in the graphic. Our pages will provide CSS styling that must be adhered to within the SVG.

- Create a raster graphic (JPG, PNG, etc.) that matches the SVG to act as a fallback for browsers that do not support SVG. This image will need rectangle or polygon image mappings created for all areas specified in the graphic.

Detailed instructions and examples are provided for the project as well as pages designed to allow you to test the interactivity and styling of the graphics you create.
