I need a program written that will read each line of a file and telnet into each telnet IP in the list (format of IP:username:password), it then needs to detect the arch and upload a file accordingly (wget and if wget isn't there then it needs to upload the file via echo -en aka hex encode the file with escape characters and upload it that way).

You inspired me! When I saw your posting I realized I need a similar tool to sync a directory on my development system with an FTP server. I created a simple demo using a Perl script and a public domain module to upload an entire directory hierarchy to an FTP server. I also made the script output the result of the system command running on the FTP server. Is all I need to complete this task for your needs a list of directories for each architecture? Hello, I am an undergraduate computer engineering student, but I have many years of experience working with Unix-like systems, and of course, I am familiar with the shell (personally, I like zsh, but bash is great as well).
