Storage Area Networks, abbreviated as SAN, are high-speed networks or subnetworks of storage devices that make these storage devices accessible to multiple servers, using a variety of topologies and protocols. SAN storage devices include disk-based devices and tape libraries.
The use of Storage Area Networks poses a lot of advantages. With SAN, storage capacity is larger as servers are not linked to a single storage device only. It also provides centralized backup, leading to simplification of management tasks. These networks also improve application availability and provides better option for backup and disaster recovery.Rekrut SAN Engineers
