Probably the most common method is discounts, or offering the product or service at a reduced price. Competitions are also popular, where consumers are given the chance to win a prize just buy purchasing the product. Other methods include providing loyalty cards, money off coupons, and free samples.
Sales promotion can be either focused on the consumer or in trade. Consumer sales promotion prioritizes getting results from consumers, usually through product awareness or purchase. Meanwhile, trade sales promotions involve promotional activities for dealers, distributors, or agents.
