I have never done this before, but I was thinking of writing a book of the funny things my six year old grand daughter (Molli) says. I was thinking of titling the book "What did Molli just say" (or something like that).

I have about 80 (maybe more) funny sayings that I have jotted down since Molli was 3-4 years old and I don't need illustrations for every one of them, but wanted to get illustrations for many of them because I wanted to make a children's book. I figured if Keith Richards and Paul McCartney (I really liked the illustrations in McCartney's Grand Dude book) can make a kids book...I can too)

Some of these sayings are from my two youngest daughters and Molli's sister, Maia, but 98% of the sayings are from Molli.

Molli is now almost seven years old, very smart, funny, and has comes up with great stuff off the top of her head.

Examples:

I was teaching Molli to ride her bike last summer. I've been walking and running beside her, but as she got better (and faster) I went to get ride my bike with her. When she saw me, she said "WOW, I didn't know old fogeys could ride a bike!"

Molli was sitting on a swing and singing "I love my daddy, because he's not stupid."

Grandma: Molli how did you get slime in your hair?
Molli: Because I was playing with slime.

Molli was excited to see Papa and ran up to him fast.
He picked her up and spun around, giving her a big hug.
Molli tooted loudly
Molli- “oh Papa, you squeezed me too hard!”

Molli: mom I can't wear that shirt. It is toooo stripey

Mom: Molli I told you to stay in our yard
Molli: Mom - I can't. My legs are just not good listeners.

Papa is driving
Molli is drinking a Slurpee
Papa “ Molli may I please have a drink?”
Molli “ Papa no drinking and driving!”

Papa" You're a poopy Molli."
Molli: "You're a poopy, papa butt cheek!"

That's just a few- hope you all find those funny. I have contacted a publisher in Eugene, OR and they are interested in my book idea. I just need to contact someone for the illustrations. Maybe with that many sayings there is room for maybe two books. We'll see how the this book goes. We will have to storyboard the idea of going over all of the sayings and get them into some kind of order. Right now they are just saved as a list on paper.
