DELIVERABLE: Original artwork. Nothing AI. Your job is to depict this scene as per the below guidelines and storyline described.

DETAILS: Depict a 24 year old adventurer who, after being dejected by an employer, has gone back to his day-to-day job of property management. For the 3rd time in 6 months, he’s chasing the source of a cockroach infestation. This adventurer used to have a promising future as a doctor! But he was kicked out of medical school for rowdy and unruly behaviour. Now he’s an entry level property manager, working for the “man”, on his hands and knees, chasing bugs, and questioning his life choices.

BACKSTORY: To turn his life around, our hero has spent the last 3 years learning about a rich old man and his obsession with finding a mythical creature known as Leviathan. Our adventurer thinks he can find the Leviathan and is working up the courage to quit his job and do it. Chasing down cockroaches is pushing him closer and close to the edge of taking the “plunge.”

Cockroaches represent Complexity Theory: the swarm can have emergent properties greater than the sum of it's individual parts.

ABOUT THE FANTASY WORLD: (Read the full description in the attached docx: A_Real_Life_Business_Adventure_Full Description.docx) This world is set in the 1970's where WW1/2 didn't occur. There is no large scale international wars but injustice is still rampant. This is no utopia. It is a complex world of good and bad. No large wars meant early globalization and economic growth is constant. The world population has soared. Slums are common and there is large wealth inequality. In this fantasy world, nuclear power has never been developed. Without it, the world is entirely dependent on oil. In this alternate universe, a rich man, one of the worlds “ruling” elites, has slowly become demented after suffering a stroke leaving him partially unable to speak and largely immobile. In this paranoid state, he would have been forgotten except that, with his money, he is perpetually funding innumerable expeditions to far flung corners of the earth to locate relics, confirm historical details, find eye witnesses, document findings, confirm suspicions, etc., etc. He is obsessed with finding the Biblical monster Leviathan which he believes will destroy the world. Though demented, the old man always pays. He is always being approached by adventurers.

BACKGROUND: Your artwork is actually illustrating a real business re-imagined as an adventure taking place in the 1970’s. Here is an excerpt from a real company welcome email I sent: “To me, business is a grand adventure and that is why I love it. By joining, you are now part of that adventure and I hope you share my enthusiasm for the unknown! We are using cutting edge technology to build a company like nothing that I, personally, have ever seen. There is no map. No guide. No instructions. Just a vision of the future and small crew of entrepreneurs who have the energy and skills to make it happen -- what fun! We’re like a motely band of hero’s straight out of Final Fantasy.”

WHY AM I RUNNING THIS COMPETITION?: From the above quote, it should be obvious that I love entrepreneurship and not just for the promise of money. If not money, then what else? To augment the adventure, something I have done since my early adolescence is, as I progressed through the monotony of day-to-day tasks, is make up a story that plays out in parallel to whatever it is I'm trying to accomplish. For example, in university, I invented an elaborate story about fighting aliens. If I succeeded at achieving positive outcomes in the real world (for example getting an A in a course), positive outcomes would occur in my imaginary parallel world.
