Abstract:
We need the design of a city arms (emblem).
The basic content elements are already fixed, there are some color related restrictions as mentioned below.

Legal:
In the end we need a vector based graphic and the grant of all rights.

Design:

Outline:
The basic outline has to be semicircle. You can see the shape and the possible divisions in the attachment "1_city-arms_outline.svg".

Content:
The content has to be stylized, no true-to-life illustration. It's important that all shapes are in a way, that they are still recoginzable from a distance (see attachment "4_distance.png"); clear and contrasty!

There should be 3 Elements within our city-arms:

1.) The steeple of a church. Could have basic alikeness with the attached "2_steeple.png", but must be a clearer shape (no bushes, not the wall in lower area, straighter perspective)
2.) A crest-lion as in attachment "3_lion.png". This lion should look just the same. It would be great, if the colors were the same; it's important that the stripes are starting with a colorful head (not the other way round). The stars can be omitted if you like.
3. Mountain(s) and ear (spike). Likely combined as one element, because otherwise we had too much elements. If preferred they can be two elements - you are the designer ;-)

Colors:
By law there are some restrictions concerning the colors:
There are only five colors and two metals:
Colors: red, blue, black, green, magenta
Metals: gold (yellow) and silver (white)

Its not allowed, that colour neighbours colour or metal neighbours metal! This is valid only for areas - lines are not subjected by this (nor are stripes like in the lion).
Color gradients are not allowed too. You may use lines for dividing elements of for creating shadows and vividly elements - but vividly (plastically) elements pls only very reduced.

Examples:
A lot of examples can be found by googling the word "Stadtwappen". Pls keep in mind, that only the simple "halfcircle-rectangle"-examples are valid and that some are not correctly regarding colors or simpleness of shape.

1) The "mountains" are in reality rather some hills but real mountains and therefore shouldn't appear as big mountains; they are better kept subordinated and/or get less space if you like to use mountains anyway.

It's so hard, to tell most of you "sorry", because you've spent a lot of work and realy showed top proposals: we really liked most of them.
But meanwhile we found the perfect proposal and there is no need to falter around.

Hello, I posted an example of how the lion could be streched, rotated and how the stars could be altered, so that it fits one half of the arms. Pls look at "example_Lion.png" in contests-description.

Thanks for your neat proposals!
A very important attribute is the visibility from a distance! We - as participants in a contest - only have a chance, if our proposal is very visible from a distance.
So pls check your offers in scaling them down and checking if you can still recoginze it, or if it is dissolving - as shown in attachment "4_distance.png".

Are you okay with PSD files ? I work using photoshop, so wanted to know if you are fine with PSD source files too.
