Design logo for new book store 'The InkPot'

The job: Looking for a logo design for a secondhand bookstore that we will be opening later this year, called 'The InkPot'. The logo will be used for the storefront , printed materials and in our online presence (Facebook, Twitter, Website).

I'm open to alternative looks, but how I imagine it so far:
- clear background
- Black text
- Font somewhat cursive-like, to evoke image of written with a quill, but not too florid. I'd rather plainer than overdone.
- an inkpot and quill included with the text, either as an added graphic or as part of the text e.g. the 'o' in the 'pOt'.
- maybe a splotch or two, like dropped splotches of ink. Bright colours (like crimson and green).

About us: Run by a wife and husband, the store will be a welcoming and warm place, where we encourage people to browse, read and - if they find the right book - to purchase. We will also be doing author events, online purchases and encouraging community involvement (especially getting kids & youth to read).

The inside of the store will likely will be white furniture with lots of natural light and bright colours.
